On Sunday, Nov. 8, 2015, Margaret Williams, a resident at The Oaks in New Bedford, Massachusetts, reached the grand old age of 101.
The skilled nursing and rehab center held a party for her on Friday, Nov. 6, so that many of Williams’ caregivers could share in the celebration. Associates served cake, Geri Chicks provided live entertainment, and City Councilor Linda Morad presented Williams with a citation celebrating her 101st year.
Williams was born on a farm in Dartmouth, Massachusetts. She enjoyed crocheting and cooking, as well as arts and crafts. She and her husband, George Williams, had two children, and she now has five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
“Margaret usually has a quiet demeanor, but it was clear that day that she was very excited to be celebrating with her family,” said Katie Roderiques, marketing director at The Oaks.
